getting started.

install, find it in your DAW, start your trial or activate. a couple of minutes, tops.

install on mac

open the installer and pick AU, VST®3, AAX or all three. DriveMachine goes here:

AU/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/DriveMachine.component

VST3/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/DriveMachine.vst3

AAX/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/DriveMachine.aaxplugin

install on windows

run the DriveMachine installer. windows will show "windows protected your pc" because the installer isn't signed yet. click "more info", then "run anyway". the download is the same file every buyer gets.

DriveMachine goes here:

VST3C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\DriveMachine.vst3

find it in your DAW

if it doesn't show up right away, rescan:

on mac

Ableton LiveSettings › Plug-ins, turn on Audio Units and/or VST3 system folders, then Rescan

Logic ProLogic Pro › Settings › Plug-in Manager, select DriveMachine, then Reset & Rescan Selection

FL StudioOptions › Manage plugins › Find installed plugins

ReaperSettings › Plug-ins › VST › Re-scan (Audio Units show up on their own)

Pro Toolsquit and reopen Pro Tools, it scans on launch. DriveMachine is under Harmonic

on windows

start your trial or activate

put DriveMachine on a track. the license card opens.

trying it

type your email and hit start 14-day trial. the full plugin for 14 days, no card. it needs internet for that one click, then it works offline.

bought it

paste the email you bought with and your key (it's in the email we sent after checkout, and in your account), then hit activate.

moving to a new computer

one key works on up to 3 computers, Mac or Windows. on a new computer, install, then paste the same email and key.

all 3 in use? open DriveMachine on a computer you're done with and hit Remove in the license card. that frees the slot. you can also remove one of your other computers right from the "already on 3 computers" card.

reinstalling on the same computer is free and doesn't use a new slot.

old computer gone or broken? get in touch and we'll reset your computers. after that, open DriveMachine and it activates again on its own. if it doesn't, press Activate.

once it's activated, DriveMachine works offline.

use it

the first time you open DriveMachine, it shows you what it does. play a sound and it starts. to watch it again: SETUP, then TUTORIAL.

drop a target anywhere on your sound and attack it. that part gets pushed hardest. click a target once to defend it.

DRIVE is how hard it pushes. MIX blends your original sound back in, so at 0 you hear only the original. CHARACTER changes how each TYPE breaks up: GENTLE keeps more of the hits and breaks up softer, BRUTAL goes all the way. MOVE gets a target moving, with RATE and DEPTH for how fast and how far. RATE runs in Hz or locks to your tempo. LIMIT starts off. switch it on and it only catches peaks.

uninstall

delete these, then rescan your DAW:

AAX/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/DriveMachine.aaxplugin

WINC:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\DriveMachine.vst3

on windows you can also use Windows' "Apps" uninstaller.

before you uninstall for good, hit Remove in the license card so the computer slot frees up.

optional, on mac, deletes your activation from this computer: ~/Library/Application Support/Db Samples/DriveMachine/

optional, on windows, deletes your activation from this computer: %APPDATA%\Db Samples\DriveMachine

deleting the plugin or that folder doesn't free a computer slot. only Remove in the plugin does (or ask us to reset your computers).
